About Us
SCAA Shearer Woolhandler Training Inc. (SCAA SWTI) is a not for profit organisation providing specialised wool, shearing and agriculture training to the wool harvesting sector. Established in 1997, graduates of our courses have excellent employment outcomes due to high quality training and our wide network of contacts with contractors, farmers, and wool representatives.
SCAA SWTI's head office is based in Hamilton, Victoria, with a second office in Naracoorte, South Australia.
We conduct training in-shed and at training locations statewide across Victoria and South Australia.
Training is conducted in the workplace to suit the student needs and to further enhance the hands on training experience, whilst keeping course costs to a minimum.
Our Trainers and Assessors are experts in their field and are passionate about passing on their knowledge and expertise.
SCAA Shearer Woolhandler Training Inc. is able to offer Government funded places in designated courses to eligible students.
All training delivered by SCAA SWTI has a strong focus on developing applied vocational skills targeted to the wool harvesting sector.

The SCAA SWTI team are passionate about wool and passing on their knowledge to the next generation of shearers, wool handlers and wool classers. Their experience and skills are what makes the SCAA SWTI organisation the leading provider of nationally accredited training for the wool industry.

SA Wool Classing Lecturer/Co-ordinator
Alie Tuinder
Alie Tuinder has been Head Trainer for SCAA SWTI since we commenced training in SA in 2020. Alie has been in the wool industry for 23 years, and that includes wool classing for 10 years. Her experience includes working in both Australia and New Zealand.

SA Shearing Lecturer/Co-Ordinator
Joshua Sneath
Joshua Sneath has been a Shearer Trainer since 2017 and organises and is in charge of all South Australian Shearing and Wool handling courses. Josh's experience includes being a shearer for 15 years and he travels to many of our schools Statewide across SA.

VIC Shearer & AWI Trainer
Jamie Tippet
Jamie has been working in the shearing industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience as a Shearer and Shearer Trainer. Jamie is extremely passionate about the industry and loves training young people not only how to shear but also how to conduct themselves.

Dookie College Trainers
Lucy Galt and Brendan Redfern
Our Dookie College Trainers teach AHC41316 Certificate IV in Wool Classing & AHC30122 Certificate III in Agriculture. Their wealth of knowledge in the industry & experience in training ensures graduates are highly skilled and ready to work in the industry.
