Course Description

The AHC21316 Certificate II in Shearing course is the perfect first step into the industry for those who have little to no experience in shearing. Also suitable for those who have completed the 22539VIC Course in Introductory Shearing in Victoria and SA 5 Day Novice Shearing and Woolhandling course in SA and wanting to go to the next level. The one week intensive training is practical and hands on delivered in-shed with live sheep. Upon completion novice shearers will able to shear a minimum of 40 adult merino sheep or 50 adult crossbred sheep per day to an acceptable industry standard. Our leading industry trainers provide one on one coaching & expert tips throughout the duration of the course to enable you to shear to a high quality. You will learn a range of skills such as handling sheep, the importance of animal welfare, how to use shearing equipment such as grinding combs, cutters & expert tips on setting up a handpiece. The Course is also suitable for wool handlers looking to learn new skills. Graduates are highly sought after by the woolharvesting industry due to the high level of training, leading to excellent employment outcomes.
